Synthesis and characterisation of SERS substrates for sensitive and selective detection of targeted small molecules using Raman spectrometery

Investigating a variety of approaches to forming SERS enabled substrates by utilising either random or ordered structures of gold nanoparticles containing a unique probe molecule in order to gain highly selective and sensitive detection of a targeted small molecules. The characterisation of these probes and understanding how they react in different environments as well as tuning their sensitivity and effectiveness towards their target molecule.
