In the August rounds of NHMRC Funding announcements, Drs Barbara Rolfe and Helga Manthey were awarded an NHMRC Development Grant titled “Harnessing the Innate Immune System to Target Cancer: A Novel Immunotherapeutic Strategy for Solid Tumours”. This exciting project is led by Barbara Rolfe and with Helga Manthey also involves CIs Trent Woodruff (SBMS), Andrew Barbour (School of Medicine), Ruben Pio (University of Navarra, Spain), and Lavinia Proctor (TRI).
Dr Cheng Zhang was awarded a CJ Martin Biomedical Early Career Fellowship on “Translatable Polymeric Nanomedicines towards Clinical Use”. He will spend 2 years in Professor Craig Hawker’s group in the Materials Research Laboratory, University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA before returning to the AIBN.
